Isn’t data traffic sent from my computer for backups going to exceed my monthly usage with my ISP?
Most ISPs only meter data coming to your computer as opposed to data leaving your computer. That is, receiving an email counts towards your usage but not sending an email. Since Backoff mainly involves data being sent from your computer, it is unlikely to greatly affect your download usage with your ISP.
Will Backoff work on my laptop when I’m away from my office?
Yes. Unlike other backup solutions that require you to carry around a device or media, Backoff will backup your computer wherever you are in the world with no changes required.
Your backed up data is password protected and as such is only accessible by you. You can optionally select for Backoff to store a copy of your password in case you forget it. Without your password, your data is unreadable by any means.
